Our Programs

All of our programs are "open source."  We develop them collectively as a coalition guided by our state's leading researchers, medical professionals, and of course patients, survivors, caregivers, and activists who work tirelessly to support the health of their communities throughout NC.  Please feel free to use, adopt, or integrate these materials into your awareness initiatives and activities.
  • Screening event guide: this guide was developed based on decades of experience organizing such events, and suggestions for better assuring that these events truly benefit the individuals attending.
  • Educational assets: this series of images and pocket cards allow for streamlined messaging that gets right to the point.  Every Man Needs a Prostate Plan® responds to the many varying pathways a man might take on his prostate cancer journey, from just knowing he needs to know more to the seasoned survivor, and everywhere in between - just answer a few straightforward questions and find the information that is most relevant to you!  Our Anatomy Cards provide a complimentary tool for supporting discrete face-to-face educational discussions.  We Got Your 6 was created in response to confusion about the difference between a PSA blood test and a full prostate screening - which includes BOTH a d PSA blood test and a digital rectal exam (DRE) - around 6% of men with prostate cancer will have a low PSA producing cancer that will not be found by a blood test.
  • Grow Your Own Way: this November focused program includes both support for individuals participating in national activities such as Grow and Give, Movember, and No Shave November AND support for integrating local activities into barber shops and/or in partnership with a barber(s) - Cuts & Conversations.
  • Virtual Fireside Chats: when there are aspects of care going largely undiscussed, we pull together a diverse panel of experts of experts to talk boldly and plainly - and answer questions discretely and confidentially posed by affected individuals.
